A festive family event for young and old, Banana Poka is an environmental fair that combines education of Kauai’s forest environment with good fun and Hawaiian music.

It takes place from 10am and ends by 4pm. It is sponsored by Hui o Laka and the family event features vine basket making, guava wood walking stick decorations, children’s games, silent auction, and hands-on exhibits from over ten environmental and conservation organizations and agencies on the island. One of the features of the fair is a crowing contest at noon featuring Russell da Rooster from Storybook Theater of Hawai‘i. There are ono snacks and live Hawaiian music performances throughout the day. It is sponsored in part by the County of Kaua‘i and Hawai‘i Tourism Authority. Banana Poka RoundUp is free and open to the public. Banana Poka Festival is a drug-free event. Pets are not welcome to protect our free-range keiki.

Parking is around the meadow with a short walk up the driveway to the camp overlooking the Lodge and Museum. A shuttle is provided.
