Common Ground Presents: The Pharcyde

Join us at Common Ground for an evening of music and beats with hip hop legends The Pharcyde. Imani, SlimKid3 "Tre", and FatLip bring their talents to Kauaʻi on September 27th. From Los Angeles, The Pharcyde established the alternative hip hop scene of the 90ʻs choosing light-hearted humor with psychedelic and jazzy beats. The acclaimed album "Bizarre Ride II the Pharcdye" released in 1992 featured singles "Passing me by" and "Ya Mama". Followed in 1996 by their second album Labcabincalifornia with singles "Runinn" and "Drop".

Masta Plann, an all-Filipino hip-hop collective formed in 1992 in the Philippines, is celebrated for their gritty lyrics and raw beats. Original members Butch Velez aka Tracer One, Juhnny Juna aka Type Sickk, Disco Mix Competition DJs Sonny Abad, Noel Macanaya aka DJ MOD, Lopi Guzman aka DJ Ouch, and manager Jesse Gonzales have made their mark in the underground rap scene. Masta Plann’s dedication to authentic, street-oriented storytelling has earned them recognition and respect within the global hip-hop community.
