Makana: Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Concert

We are delighted to announce that Makana, the internationally known and loved master of Hawaiian slack key guitar, will perform Saturday evening, November 10, at the Kauai Writers Conference for all attendees and faculty. His playing has been called “dazzling” by the New York Times. He is considered by many to be the greatest living performer of this treasure trove of Hawaiian music. While always paying homage to the traditions of his art form, he brings it fresh life with his astounding original compositions.

This performance is included without additional cost for all Kauai Writers Conference attendees. It is also open, at a nominal charge, to your guests and friends of the conference.
