ʻAnini is a 2-mile stretch of beautiful white sand beach on Kauaʻi’s North Shore.
ʻAnini Beach is one of the safest and most protected beaches along the North Shore of Kauaʻi, thanks to a fringed reef that runs the entire two miles. It is known to be the longest reef in Hawaiʻi.
Sylvester Stallone purchased the beachfront land fronting ʻAnini Beach, subdivided it and sold off individual home sites. Today expensive homes of the "rich and famous" are located directly along ʻAnini Beach and on the bluff above this scenic area of Kauaʻi. The movie Honeymoon in Vegas was filmed at one of these homes. Many are available as Kauaʻi vacation rentals.
The water on one side of the ʻAnini Beach is only four feet deep and slowly increases to over 100 feet on the other side. ʻAnini Beach is well known for windsurfing, snorkeling, scuba diving and fishing. There is no lifeguard at ʻAnini Beach.
ʻAnini Beach Park offers restrooms, showers, picnic tables and barbecue facilities. There are also shady Kamani trees. Camping requires a County permit.
To get to ʻAnini from the Līhuʻe Airport, travel North on Highway 56 (also known as Khūiō Highway) past Kīlauea, cross over the Kalihiwai Bridge and turn right on Kalihiwai Road (the SECOND road with this name), then turn left onto ʻAnini Road and follow it to ʻAnini Beach. There are direction signs on Highway 56 advising where to turn.
