Celebrate the holidays at the FREE 26th Annual Festival of Lights! This year's transformed festival will highlight the exterior lighting of the park at the Historic County Building. From Thanksgiving night to New Year's Day, millions of lights will illuminate the expansive park, creating a festive public space ideal for social distancing. In addition to the dozens of tall coconut palm trees wrapped in colorful lights, there will also be snowfall and meteor lights projected throughout the park. Three of the most popular themed trees will be placed at the building's windows, where lights will reflect off the beautiful aluminum can flower and water bottle butterfly ornaments. For a closer look, there will also be three trees positioned atop the exterior porch with newly designed ornaments. In partnership with local high school students from Hui Hookipa and other organizations, decorations using upcycled materials will represent local and current culture such as mask ornaments made from plastic baseball hat protectors. Festivities wouldn't be complete without Santa and Mrs. Claus, and they will once again share their joy from a safe distance. With personal cameras and phones, visitors may ask an elf helper to take their picture at the bottom of the exterior porch with Santa and Mrs. Claus seated up top. The famous couple will be at Festival of Lights from 6–8 p.m. every Friday through Christmas Eve.
